Struggling For A Good Dentist Since The Pandemic? It’s Time To Make A Change.

Time To Make a Change

This is what we are doing at Crystal Clear Dental to provide quality dentistry post-Covid.

Even before the pandemic, many found going to the dentist a worrying prospect (we try to avoid using words like frightening!). Now it’s an experience that means just booking an appointment can fill people with anxiety and stress. Long waits for even basic treatment, unanswered questions and growing uncertainty. The pandemic has certainly made it very difficult to get the treatment people need.

With a huge backlog, not being able to get appointments with many trained professionals or having to wait months is now a fact of life many of us have become accustomed to. Many people are still unsure when they will next see a dentist.

Those that have been lucky enough to get appointments, however few and far between, have often travelled long journeys or paid excessive amounts to get the care they need. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any sign of the backlog woes easing up.

So here is what we are doing at Crystal Clear Dental to tackle the Covid backlog and to get people the dental care and treatment they need.

Routine appointments – Get seen quickly.

We all know the importance of regular dental check-ups and hygiene appointments. Now it has been reported that more than 2,000 dentists have left the NHS in the last year, [] and with ongoing Covid backlogs, people are losing out on the preventative dentistry they need. Some people are even being told they have to wait until 2024 for an appointment, while others are being removed from their practice lists for not making appointments sooner. Although practices have reopened since the pandemic, people are still struggling to access simple dental care.

At Crystal Clear Dental our dental plan includes two annual check-ups and two hygiene visits, in a practice more akin to visiting a spa than a traditional NHS dentist. Whether you’re signed onto our plan or simply pay as you go, you can be sure of getting an appointment quickly, something we pride ourselves on to ensure we can see you quickly and provide the highest quality of service with every visit.

Dental emergencies can occur to anyone at any time, and when that pain hits you want care immediately. More than 1 in 4 British adults only visit the dentist when they have a problem or it is an emergency that needs sorting quickly. Without regular care, the need for these appointments can often be serious. Meanwhile, of the 39 practices in York, none are currently taking on new NHS patients [—none-taking-new-adult-nhs-patients/] and are instead being put on a two to three-year waiting list… very concerning news if you have a dental emergency and need immediate attention.

At Crystal Clear Dental we make emergency care a top priority with appointments made available in our diary every single day. This means we can see you fast! Same day care is often available with us, and if not, we will aim to see you within a week to get you the urgent care you require.

The bottom line:

If you’ve experienced any of these frustrating problems as a result of the pandemic, are struggling to be seen by your dentist, or just need a change to a quality dental service, please don’t hesitate to ring us on 01904 642595.
